Big Surprise for those who did not realize that so much of country music is blues based.  We kept our set bluesy for sure...but we also kept it country. We were once again joined by our

musical friends: Big Daddy and The Bulldogs

and the Red White and Blues Band

Bullitt's Saloon

2955 Merrick Road  Bellmore, NY 11710

On the Northern Side of Merrick Road

just 3 blocks east of Wantagh Parkway

next to the duck pond

An interesting night. Our first set was 100% country, but this place advertises a mixed music bag and who walks in, but our old friend  Barry Titone, a musician extraodinaire. Barry is a great singer, guitarist, bassist, but most of all he is known as one of Long Island's great saxophone players, So we couldn't pass up the opportunity to get Barry up on stage for some Blues, some rock, some motown, some oldies , some jazz and some general mayhem. Friends said we "kicked ass!"

Lew the new manager of the country nights at the Polish Hall stopped in to say Hello. We are going to be re-opening the Polish Hall to country Music on August 13th. Please come and support country music in Nassau County

Gator Blue

148 Carleton Avenue, East Islip

Now this is one cool place! We got a last minute call.

Fortunately our good buddy Joe Zogbi (from the Lowriders and the Jeff Regan Band) was able to step in, so we could do the gig.

The owner of this place is a very good guy, and a great cook too. You must try the dinner and beverage

specials. The dance floor is big enough for line dancing

and there was ample room for the band too.

We enjoyed working with the lovely and energetic

dance instructor Kim, who got several of our

friends line dancing, now they love it.

Donna K from 96.1 "My country"  WJVC Radio

was on hand to greet everyone as well.

Thursday night are country night- check it out.

No cover charge- come as you are!

Something really cool happened at the end of this gig:

A  trucker who was staying over at the holiday

and had just sauntered into the Brickyard for a

few cold ones came up to the band and said he was from

Tennessee (he sounded like it with that nice

Tennessee cadence to his speech) and said

he really enjoyed the group and that

"you folks have nailed that sound that

I love, I was looking for some country

music and just happened to be staying

here and can't beleive how much you

sound like the bands at home"

There is no better compliment for a

New York Country Band than

Kudos from a Tennessee Trucker!

We will be back there on September 15th
